On D-Day Anniversary, Pasco Resists Honors Veterans and Demands Protection of the VA
New Port Richey, FL — On the 81st anniversary of D-Day, Pasco Resists honors the sacrifice, bravery, and patriotism of American service members who fought on the beaches of Normandy to defend democracy and defeat fascism. A protest will take place on Friday June 6th from 4-6pm at the West Government Pasco Center, the intersection of Little Rd and Citizens Dr, (8731 Citizens Dr.)
“June 6 is a sacred date in our shared history,” said Doris Carroll, advocate, and leader with Pasco Resists. “It marks the moment when ordinary Americans did something extraordinary —risking everything to protect freedom not just for our nation, but for the world.”
The D-Day anniversary comes at a time when veterans face new battles at home. From underfunded healthcare to attempts to privatize and dismantle the VA, many veterans struggle to get the support they deserve after their service.
